About Us

We are a Regional Broadband Consortium (RBC) funded by the California Public Utilities Commission to facilitate broadband deployment in Marin, Mendocino, Napa, and Sonoma Counties. In 2010, Governor Schwarzenegger signed Senate Bill 1040 establishing the California Advanced Services Fund Consortia Grant Account, which provides funding to Urban and Rural Regional Broadband Consortia (RBC) to facilitate broadband deployment and advance broadband adoption in unserved and underserved areas.

NBNCBC and other RBCs are also funded by the California Emerging Technology Fund to engage in digital equity work across the state. Through this partnership, we are able to support efforts around internet affordability and advanced adoption.

There are 14 active RBCs that cover most of the State of California. We work collaboratively with each other, with state agencies including the California Public Utilities Commission and the California Emerging Technology Fund. RBCs also work closely with their Counties, Cities, and community organizations including libraries.

Mission Statement

The Mission of the North Bay/North Coast Broadband Consortium (NBNCBC) is to ensure the needs for broadband access and adoption are met in every corner of our four counties. NBNCBC’s top priority and immediate focus is on bringing broadband services to the unserved and underserved areas.

Leadership

The executive leadership of NBNCBC is an Oversight Committee consisting of one County Supervisor from each Member County. The current Oversight Committee is comprised of Chair Dennis Rodoni (Marin), Ted Williams (Mendocino), Anne Cottrell (Napa), and Chris Coursey (Sonoma). The NBNCBC Management Team is comprised of appointed County staff from each respective member County.

Mark Revis (Napa County) serves as the Manager of the North Bay North Coast Broadband Consortium.
